Where do you leave from?

We leave from the Somers Cover Marina in the town of Crisfield, MD on the Eastern Shore.
 

Is there transportation across the bay  from the Western Shore?

No. There is no car ferry that crosses the Chesapeake Bay.
 

Are you handicapped accessible?

Not completely. We can handle a manual wheelchair if the person is able to walk down the ramp. However extremely high tides can make is difficult.

 

Are strollers allowed on the boat?

Yes.


Can we bring our dog?

Yes. But only small dogs that are on a leash and can sit in your lap. No large dogs are allowed.

 

Do we need a reservation?

Yes, reservations are required. For groups, call as soon as possible to check the availability on a particular cruise. For individuals, call anytime, even the morning of the cruise you want to make your reservation on.

 

Do you offer group rates and how many people constitute a group?

Yes. But only if you have 15 or more people in your group.

 

Do we receive any complimentary tickets for our group?

Yes. A group with 30 paying passengers will receive 1 complimentary ticket, and a group of 40 paying passengers  will receive 2 complimentary tickets.

 

Is there food on the boat?

No. There is only sodas and water. But there are places to eat on the island once you arrive.

 

Can we buy a Smith Island cake to take home?

Yes. The Bayside Inn Carryout sells whole cakes and slices to go.

 

Can we stay on Smith Island overnight?

Yes. There are rental properties and B&B's on the island.
